Clinical Scenario
A 72-year-old man undergoes an elective right hemicolectomy for caecal adenocarcinoma. On post-operative day 2, he develops chest pain radiating to the jaw and breathlessness. ECG shows new ST-segment elevation in leads II, III, and aVF. Troponin I is markedly elevated.
