Clinical Scenario
A 65-year-old man presents with a 3-month history of progressive dysphagia — initially to solids, now liquids — and a 10 kg weight loss. He has a 30-year history of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and is a current smoker. He is referred urgently for upper GI endoscopy.
