Clinical Scenario
You are in the procedural skills station. A 28-year-old patient has sustained a clean 3 cm
laceration to the forearm. Local anaesthetic has been administered and the wound has been
prepared and draped. You will be asked to demonstrate three suturing tasks on the model provided.
You will be given four suture materials and asked to select the appropriate one for each
task by description (e.g. "please use a non-absorbable monofilament suture"). Demonstrate each
task and explain your actions to the examiner as you proceed.
